Summit's 78th Annual Fourth of July Celebration
Summit's Fourth of July Celebration is back for 2026!

The City of Summit’s 78th annual Fourth of July celebration will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Soldiers Memorial Field, located at 5 Myrtle Avenue. The community celebration will include entertainment, rides and amusements, and a food court.
The event will begin with a flag raising ceremony at noon, followed by a decorated bicycle parade for children at 12:15PM. Entertainment will include concerts beginning at 1PM. The event will conclude with a fireworks display beginning at 9:15PM.
The walking track, playground, tennis courts, and lower fields at Memorial Field will close at 1PM to prepare for the fireworks display. Roads adjacent to the field will close to vehicle traffic at 6PM. The parking lot on Ashland Road next to the Memorial Field tennis courts will be closed all day on July 4. Handicapped parking will be available at the intersection of Watchung Place and Tulip Street.
The Fourth of July celebration is sponsored by Bristol Myers Squibb and funded by generous contributions from residents and local businesses.

Summit's Fourth of July is a day-long celebration marked by traditions starting with the Children's Decorated Bicycle Parade and ending with the Grand Fireworks Display.
After last year's success, the Food Truck Festival will welcome a variety of vendors and will be expanded. Evening entertainment will feature Daddy Pop on the main stage. Carnival rides and children's entertainment, bands and vendor displays will be at Soldier's Memorial Field all day long from 12:00 PM until after the fireworks at 9:00 PM!
