Since the early 1900s, the City of Summit has been committed to providing quality parks, playgrounds, and facilities for its residents.
Parks are maintained by the Department of Community Services and operated by the DCP under a partnership created in 2006. The City and the Board of Education also partner to share use of properties in order to meet the athletic pursuits of residents of all ages.
Field Restoration Fund
To meet growing demands and rising costs of maintenance, the City has instituted a Field Restoration Fund to maintain athletic fields and make necessary improvements when needed. Funds are collected through permits and Field User Fees.
