2024 Girls Youth Flag Football

Girls Grades 4-8

The Summit Department of Community Programs in conjunction with Summit Youth Football (SYF), the New Providence Recreation Department and the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL) announce the inaugural season of Girls Youth Flag Football for girls in grades 4-8. Girls Flag Football is one of the fastest growing sports in New Jersey. This Spring, Summit High School will have a club Girls Flag team for the first time, with the sport expected to become a Varsity Sport within a few seasons. The NJSYFL is starting a Girls Youth Flag league this year to support member towns’ high school programs. Summit and New Providence players will be placed on balanced, combined teams. Teams will play using NJSIAA HIgh School Girls Flag Football rules with minor modifications for the youth player, such as no kickoffs.

• Regular Season runs  March 13 through end of May
• $75 Registration Fee
• Register via New Providence Community Pass
• Practices at Oakwood Park in New Providence
• Home games will be in New Providence and away games will be in neighboring towns. Most games Saturdays from 4-8PM.
• Practices for Grades 4-6 (12U Division) - Wednesdays beginning March 13 from 6-7:30 pm 
• Practices for Grades 7-8 (14U Division) - Wednesdays beginning March 13 from 7:30-9:00 pm 

Summit Youth Football is providing jerseys and flags. Players will need mouthguards, turf shoes and black shorts, leggings or pants for games. (In order to keep fees low, we need the jerseys and flags to be returned at the end of the season.)
