In 1954, the Golden Age Club was formed to provide recreation activities for the senior citizens living in Summit. The 55 members met weekly at the Edison Rec and enjoyed activities such as shuffleboard, glee club, musical programs, and cards.
Over 60 years later, the group is now referred to as the Summit Seniors Club and the Edison Rec is now the Community Center. While members still meet on Fridays to play cards and socialize, the Summit Seniors Club also boasts a variety of weekly activities including Yoga, Dance to be Fit, and Senior Sing.
